Canada is situated in the northern part of North America. It is the second largest country of the world by area. Its southern border is the US, that stretches 8891km, making it world’s longest bi-national land border. The capital of Canada is Ottawa and the three main cities are Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

CLIMATE CONDITION

Regarding the climatic condition, Canada experiences a continental climate. As because Canada is huge in area, the climate varies from region to region. Summers are pleasant, the temperature being 25-30’C whereas winters are really harsh, where the temperature can go down to -40’C with severe chill wind.

EDUCATION IN CANADA

Education in Canada is ranked amongst the best in the world. Universities of Canada offers a varities of courses and programmes for graduate, post- graduate and doctoral level of study. As such this country witnesses a huge number of students all over the globe every year. All educational documents such as 10th boards, passport, ID proofs, complete medical examination certificate, proof of sufficient funds is all you need, to apply for a certain course in Canada. English language test like IELTS/TOEFL, GRE,GMAT is absolutely mandatory. To conclude, it can be rightly said that Canada is a dream destination for students.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

A student needs to apply for a Temporary resident Visa, provided by the Canadian High Commission and facilitated by the Visa Application Centers. It takes approx 3-4 weeks to get your visa and a letter of Introduction from the VFS. The below stated are the eligibility criteria to get a Canadian Student Visa:

 

You should have a original Passport.
You need to be accepted by the Designated Learning Institute (DLI).
Proof of adequate funds to pay your tuition fees and living expenses.
Police Certificate to prove that you don’t have a criminal record.
Complete Medical certificate.
Visa Application Form along with the fees payment receipt of the University.
Photograph as per measurement (35mm x 45mm white background with face covering 50-80% of the face)

APPROX COST OF EDUCATION & LIVING

Canada Universities are cheaper when compared to UK,US and Australia. But it is a great place to persue higher education and grab a job at the same time. Under graduate students, other than Canadian citizens need to spend 11000$/year approx depending upon the course and university, whereas for post graduates it is around 12000$/year. Students usually work for 20 hours/week and full time during breaks. They can earn up to C$ 8-10/hour during their study period and as such can bear easily with the living cost. Depending on the option of accommodation and city, your per year expenses can be 13000$ – 14000$. To note, Vancouver and Toronto is pretty expensive to live in.
