Lithuania is located along the southeastern shore of the Baltic Sea. On 11th March 1990, Lithuania became the first Baltic state and declared its independence. The capital of this country is Vilnius which is also the largest city. Kaunas and Klaipeda are the other major cities in this country.

CLIMATIC CONDITION

The climatic condition of Lithuania is semi-continental. The winter being very cold with snowfalls where the temperature goes down below freezing point especially at night. Whereas summers are warm and with temperatures between 25-30 degrees even. This country experiences little rainfall also sometimes. Springs and summers are best time though to visit Lithuania.

EDUCATION IN LITHUANIA

Lithuania being a member of the EU is an ideal country to pursue higher education. A degree from this country is accredited & equally recognized in other European countries. It has been a center of learning and a popular destination for international students. If you want to work part-time while you’re studying, all you need to have is a valid residency permit. The eligibility criteria are much easier than in other European countries. All educational documents starting from 10th boards, passport and other ID proofs, a brief CV, complete medical examination certificate, and motivation letter are all you need, to apply for a certain course. The proficiency of English language is tested through IELTS/TOEFL. In case one doesn’t have such a certificate, he/she’ll have to take the English language test prepared by the university. Duration for Integrated Studies, Medicine – 6 years, Bachelors – 4 years and Masters – 2 years.

APPROX COST OF EDUCATION & LIVING

Lithuania generally offers a low cost of tuition and living compared to other European Countries. Tuition fees start from 4000EUR depending on the course and university. Since part-time work is valid while studying in Lithuania, so it is really bearable when it comes to living costs. As such makes it a perfect place for international students to gather a ‘study in Europe’ experience at a pretty affordable cost for all. Accommodation varies from small rooms to private apartments that range between 175-800 EUR. Fooding starts at 150-200EUR. Therefore 300-800EUR/month in total is approximately needed depending upon your lifestyle.
